With less than a month until the UCI Road World Championships, Team USA has announced its riders, including Neilson Powless, Kristen Faulkner, Brandon McNulty, and Veronica Ewers.
The team has carefully picked a 24-member team in hopes of victory. Even USA Cycling’s director is confident in the selection. “The results we’ve seen from the Americans this year have been incredible. The team is looking strong and will fare well on this dynamic course,” said Michael Sayers.
Although the team has decided to participate with just five riders. Powless, McNulty, and Magnus Sheffield will work together to secure the Men Road race, with Lawson Craddock and Kyle Murphy providing some strong support. Sheffield and Craddock will also contest the individual time trial.
The women's team is looking stronger than ever with the presence of Kristen Faulkner and Veronica Ewers. Faulkner claimed two stage wins and 11th overall at the Giro d’Italia Donne in July, while Ewers finished ninth overall at the Tour de France Femmes a few weeks later.
Coryn Labecki will be responsible for sprints and attacks. Krista Doebel-Hickok, Leah Thomas, Emma Langley, and Skylar Schneider will provide crucial support to the team.
