Team dsm-firmenich PostNL confirms Max Poole's absence from Giro d'Italia: "We hoped he would be there to learn from Romain Bardet, but he still is on the mend"

In accordance with the expectations, Max Poole won't be a part of Team dsm-firmenich PostNL's lineup for Giro d'Italia starting next Saturday. His team made the young Brit's withdrawal official on Friday. However a broken elbow suffered at Tirreno-Adriatico made it impossible for the 21-year-old to prepare accordingly for the second Grand tour of his career.

"We hoped Max Poole would be at the Giro d'Italia where he could support and learn from Romain Bardet in the GC but he still is on the mend," the team clarified in X post. This is only of the many blows for the Dutch team, which also has to replace Poole's compatriot Oscar Onley in the selection for the Italian Grand tour.
