Team BikeExchange - Jayco are already on the market and looking for additions for the 2023 season, and two names have been specifically mentioned: Adam Yates and Eddie Dunbar, the INEOS Grenadiers duo of climbers.
At the Giro d'Italia, Rod Ellingworth has been asked about the rumours of the interest of the Australian team in the team's duo. "We have nothing to add, I’ve heard about it this morning but at the end of the day this is their careers and it would be wrong for me to spill any news," said regarding it.
"Why would we not want to keep him? He’s been bloody good for us and he’s had some bloody good performances. The thing is for me is all that I’m concentrating on is that he’s one of our leaders for the Tour de France," Ellingworth pointed out. This season the Briton has been very selective on his races, but very effective as he rode to second place at the UAE Tour and fourth at Paris-Nice.
He rode the Itzulia Basque Country, but abandoned during the final day whilst inside the Top10. He will be riding the Tour de France later this summer where he has began preparing, with Daniel Martínez as a co-leader for INEOS Grenadiers. "He’s a good addition, he performs well and he’s focused on the Tour, and that’s the main thing," he added.
In addition Yates, also Eddie Dunbar is rumoured to be under the radar of Team BikeExchange - Jayco. The Irishman was set to ride the Giro d'Italia this month, but was pulled out last-minute as the team looked towards different options. This has understandably caused issues within the team and Dunbar is reported to be on the way out of the team. He won the Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali earlier this year, but didn't show the same form at the Tour of the Alps in the run-up to the Italian race.
