Switzerland takes gold medal in Mixed Relay TTT as Netherlands suffer multiple disasters

The Mixed Relay TTT has marked a halfway point today in the World Championships, and the title has been taken by Switzerland who combined, had the best times from the men's and women's side of the team time-trial.

The victory was very tight, as the Swiss took the victory with only three seconds over the Italian national team. In a distant third place, the athletes from Australia have taken another set of medals home. The Netherlands were big contenders for the win, but have seen Bauke Mollema suffer a mechanical in his effort, and Annemiek van Vleuten crash at the start of it.

Switzerland counted on the presence of Stefan Küng, Stefan Bissegger and Mauro Schmid in the men's lineup, whilst in the women's team it was Elise Chabbey, Marlen Reusser and Nicole Koller.
