Now in his second season as a fully fledged professional rider, Bastien Tronchon is looking to take another step forward in his career ahead of his first WorldTour one-day race of the season at Strade Bianche this weekend.
Tronchon has already started the 2024 season strongly, with a second place finish at the Clásica Jaén and a victory in the youth classification at the Tour des Alpes Maritimes. In his most recent race at the Faun Drôme Classic, the Frenchman finished in sixth place and was part of the winning move that made it to the finish, just missing out on a podium finish in the uphill sprint to the line.
Following on from that result, Tronchon is very excited heading into this weekend, as he said in an interview ahead of the race that “Strade Bianche is the race of my dreams. I'm going to participate in it for the first time, so I'm very happy and I can't wait to discover it”.
He will form part of a strong Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale lineup that includes the likes of Benoît Cosnefroy and Nans Peters, along with recent Trofeo Laigueglia runner-up Andrea Vendrame.
