Stage 5 of the
Vuelta a Espana will be a 24-kilometer long team time-trial. Whilst we have had two hilly finales thus far which have opened up a few gaps, this day will be the first to seriously test the GC riders and created big differences. We take a look at the
start times and order of all teams.
After the summit finish to Limone a few gaps have been opened, but they are only in the spectrum of a few seconds, mostly dictated by the bonifications the riders obtained. In Figueres, it's certain that a few big differences will be made and a few of the big GC contenders - including red jersey David Gaudu - will shed quite a lot of time. It's a proper test of collective strength.
With the peloton travelling to Spain this Tuesday evening, tomorrow's stage will also have a late start. Lotto will be the first team off the starting ramp at 16:37CET, and the 23 teams will set off with 4 minutes between each other. Groupama - FDJ will be the last of them, starting their effort at 18:05CET.
