Stages & Profiles Giro Donne 2026 - Four mountain stages including MTT and Valle d'Aosta stage
Cycling
The 2027 Giro Donne has been revealed this Tuesday morning in Rome, alongside the men's Giro d'Italia. The route will begin in Viareggio in 2027, and finish on the Valle d'Aosta. On the way are three major mountain stages and a mountain time trial.
The race begins in Viareggio with a stage that will provide the sprinters with a chance at netting the first pink jersey of the race - although the climb to Pitoro, tackled on four occasions, provides a chance for sttackers.
Stage 2 will be a day for the sprinters as well finishing in Genova; whilst stage 3 into Viadana should fit the fast women, but begins with the very long Passo del Bocco which could throw in a major obstacle for a few riders.
Stage 4 sees the riders reach the mountains, with several climbs in the Lombardia region then giving way to a summit finish at Passo della Presolana: 11.7 kilometers long at 5.4%. Stage 5 will be a day for the sprinters, starting and finishing in Cassano d'Adda.
Stage 6 sees the riders back in the mountains, with the very long climbs of the Passo san Marco and Valle Spluga set to fully explode the overall classification battle in the Alps. Stage 7 into Rho will be the sprinters' final opportunity.
Stage 8 will be a mountain time trial, taking place in Valdigne. 11 kilometers at just over 4% means it may not be a decisive day, but with the riders racing individually, it will be a day to create differences.
The race finally comes to an end on stage 9 in the Valle d'Aosta. Whilst start and finishing locations were not named, the race will tackle several climbs in the region, including the brutal Colle san Carlo which will come right before the expected finale in Courmayeur.

Demi Vollering is the reigning champion of the Giro Donne

Rafionain-Glas03-11-2026 - A great route, much more exciting than the Tour de France. Monte Livata is an interesting one, because they experimented with it at the 2026 Baby Giro, and it was fantastic. 4 km at 10%, then 10 km at 6.5% made for a great spectacle. The stage 16 is horrible
Rafionain-Glas03-11-2026 - I remember when Mark went through that. He was really experiencing lows and thought about quiting many times. It took him a long time to recover. I, like many others were overjoyed when he came back. I hope Lafay has been tested. I wish him the best.Paggss03-11-2026

- I think Jonas would have lost the TDF by 4+ minutes (at the least) and might not have even been in the top 3. Too much talent in the younger riders to say anyone not named Pogačar would have been top 3md197503-11-2026
