Groupama - FDJ is another team to have already announced its seven riders to start at the Tour Down Under. In Australia, the French WorldTour team opts for a mix between young and old riders with Rudy Molard as their best-known rider to make his appearance.
Big names such as David Gaudu, Stefan Küng and Valentin Madouas will not appear in the Australian stage race. Rudy Molard seems to be the spearhead for the French formation in the more difficult stages. The 34-year-old Frenchman already won a stage in Paris-Nice in 2018, but has not been able to climb to the top podium since.
Molard will receive support from two other experienced riders, 38-year-old Lithuanian Ignatas Konovalovas and 30-year-old Swiss Fabian Lienhard. 25-year-old Clément Davy is also on the starting list. Young Laurence Pithie will try for a stage win. Enzo Paleni and Reuben Thompson complete the lineup of the French team.
