The Faun-Ardèche Classic 2025 was won this Saturday by Romain Grégoire. The Frenchman found the victory on a plate. The reason? A blunder by Enric Mas at the last roundabout, which took him off the course along with Javier Romo and Brandon McNulty when they could have won.

Criticism of the organization has not been lacking. In fact, the race director has defended himself for what happened. Race winner Grégoire has also spoken out about what happened. The Groupama - FDJ rider surprisingly accuses the cyclists who made a mistake (Mas, Romo and McNulty) of having a "lack of lights".

"I don't know what they did at the 350-meter mark, they took a right when we had already passed that point several times. I think there was a slight lack of lights on the part of the first riders," the Frenchman began.

Despite criticizing a "lack of lights" to the cyclists who made a mistake, Gregoire later pointed out that he did not know who did it. Having little information about what happened, the Groupama rider decided to judge the other riders.

"I don't know who was in the lead at the time. I was around 6th-7th place. I didn't even think about it. Fortunately, I was alert, I knew I was in front. Of course, it's a bit strange not to be able to do the sprint you were hoping for. But that's how it is, it's part of the race," he concluded.
