Roglic, Vingegaard and Adam Yates to race GP de Denain in preparation for Tour de France

This week's GP de Denain will receive a host of World Tour, Pro Team and Continental teams who will be on the hunt for some strong results in one of the cobbled semi-classics. However, not everyone will just be eyeing the win, as some of the Tour de France contenders will be on the startlist in order to prepare for the Tour de France's cobblestone stage.

The French race will take place this thursday in northern France, tackling several cobbled sectors around the town of Denain which is a mere walking distance from Wallers which will host the finale of the Tour de France's stage five, a day which can be decisive for the overall classification as many may loose time in the cobbles. Eight World Tour teams will be at the start, with Jumbo-Visma and INEOS Grenadiers bringing in their GC contenders for the Tour for the most realistic preparation possible.

Jumbo-Visma have confirmed they will have both Primoz Roglic and Jonas Vingegaard at the start. Whilst the Slovenian conquered Paris-Nice this past week, Vingegaard has also shown terrific form by finishing Tirreno-Adriatico in second place. The duo will be riding the Tour de France as co-leaders, and Roglic will shortly after travel to Italy where he is set to race Milano-Sanremo.

As for INEOS Grenadiers they have confirmed the presence of Adam Yates who's just came out of a fourth place at Paris-Nice. Although it has not yet confirmed, Daniel Martínez is also rumoured to be heading to France as he'll co-lead the team in the summer, and has just came out of the race with tremendous form, having blown up the race on the final day.
