Remco Evenepoel has just won his first rainbow jersey in the time-trial discipline and he is eager to display it. He will have the opportunity to do so at the Vuelta a Espana if nothing goes wrong, however he's added the Chrono des Nations to his schedule.
According to Het Laatste Nieuws, the decision has been taken on racing the French race. Although currently it does not hold the same status that he used to in the past, it remains an important symbolic race and a final test for the time-trialists. Evenepoel, now carrying a new jersey, wants to put it on display, and most likely end his season in Les Herbiers in the 15th of October.
Evenepoel will race Il Lombardia and likely a few races beforehand, but that will be after the Vuelta a Espana. At the Vuelta it is not certain if he'll debut his new jersey in the team time-trial it will depend on the rules, but if he does not abandon the race he will have the 10th stage, where he's expected to be a big favourite regardless of the competition, in what is also an important day for the overall classification.
