It has been much rumoured for a while, but now, Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe have officially confirmed the acquisition of Jan Tratnik from Team Visma | Lease a Bike, with the Slovenian reuniting with compatriot Primoz Roglic for the 2025 season.
“Maybe I'm not the youngest, but I'm really happy to join a team with so many ambitions," the 34-year-old, who proved his level is still incredibly high in 2024, taking victory at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and performing strongly at other races, such as the Volta ao Algarve, Clásica Jaén, plus a recent 8th placed finish in the road race at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. "I still have a lot of personal goals, but I also want to share my experience with the young guys and help the team push the limits in all areas.”
“Talent needs experience. That's why it was important for us to sign someone who has been in the peloton for several seasons," adds Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe's Ralph Denk. "Jan is a prime example of a rider who is both a team player and has the hunger and strength to succeed on his own.”
As Tratnik follows in the footsteps of the likes of Giulio Pellizzarri, Laurence Pithie, Finn Fisher-Black and his Team Visma | Lease a Bike teammates, Mick van Dijke and Tim van Dijke, Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe continue to bolster their ranks for 2025 and beyond.
