For several months Ramon Sinkeldam has been given as a certainty to join B&B Hotels-KTM, however with the team's difficulties in staying up into 2023, it's riders have been given freedom to chase contracts elsewhere and the Dutch sprinter is taking the opportunity.
Sinkeldam is best known for being Arnaud Démare's leadout man, alongiside Jacopo Guarnieri at Groupama-FDJ. This season, as has been the case in the past, the trio have succeeded at the Giro d'Italia with multiple stage wins, and several other wins throughout the season. However the French team is seeking new cards to help the Frenchman, and Sinkeldam looked for a contract elsewhere.
With B&B Hotels-KTM having a surge in budget they have signed Mark Cavendish, and alongside Max Richeze Sinkeldam would be one of the key figures within the team's plans. However in the last five weeks the team has continuously found itself in a more and more complicated situation as predicted sponsors pulled out and the team finds itself in risk of not continuing into 2023.
It's men's and women's team were given freedom to look for contracts in another team. Sinkeldam may stay in the World Tour as he is set to join Alpecin-Deceuninck in a training camp in Spain this month, and could on paper be a signing for the Belgian team who will have it's focus on sprinters such as Jasper Philipsen and Kaden Groves.
