On the 8th of October takes place one of the most prestigious one-day races in the calendar, one that is actually not at World Tour level. Tre Valli Varesine is often termed the ideal preparation race for Il Lombardia and has luxurious fields every year; in a route that is very open and leads to tactical and exciting racing. We take a look at it's profile.
3400 meters of climbing in the Italian race that consists almost fully of one single hilly circuit, finishing in Varese. The riders take on almost a dozen laps of a circuit with two consecutive ascents that interestingly both 1.9-kilometers long at 5.3%... Whilst in the final 2 laps there is an extra loop that features a slightly steeper ascent. The hilltop finish in Varese makes it possible for differences to be created in the final climb.
