Mathieu van der Poel stormed back to a
strong win on his return to the cobbled classics. The
Alpecin-Fenix rider took the win in Waregem after being part of the winning attack with 70 kilometers to go, and matched the offensive in the final kilometers which saw him in a position to take a win in the final sprint against Tiesj Benoot.
With the win van der Poel has taken, most of the
prize money has fell into the pockets of Alpecin-Fenix who have taken a total of €16.000 as the prize money for the win. In second place with exactly half the value were
Jumbo-Visma who have taken €8.000 from Tiesj Benoot's second place in the race.
Most of the following rankings have taken the same direction as most of the prize money was taken by the riders in the Top10. With third and eighth spot
INEOS Grenadiers have taken the third spot with €5.200 as Tom Pidcock and Ben Turner took a strong collective performance which earned them a spot on the podium.
