Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe have confirmed their '7' for Il Lombardia, the final monument of the season. For the first - and last - time in their years spent together in the German team, Remco Evenepoel and Primoz Roglic will race together.
In 2026, Red Bull took in Remco Evenepoel as its new leader. Not an isolated leader, taking into consideration the team's depth, but a rider who could select his own calendar and work towards his goals.
On the opposite side of the spectrum was Roglic, a rider who was signed at the start of the 2024 season, the team's first major investment after the entry of the sport's drink giant.
Ever since, Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe has grown massively, with the buyout of Evenepoel's contract being combined with the growth of Florian Lipowitz; the revival of former Giro winner Jai Hindley; and the signing of young climbing talent Giulio Pellizzari.

Evenepoel and Roglic, the new European Champions

Evenepoel followed the path of the spring classics and Tour de France in 2026. Roglic, openly leaving the team at the end of the year, was given an untraditional schedule, with large gaps in his racing schedule and a full focus on the Vuelta a España where he'd finish second.
Both riders raced the World and European Championships in the same peloton, but not as teammates - rather, as leaders of the Belgian and Slovenian national teams.
Evenepoel and Roglic both became European Champions this past week, winning the road race and time trial respectively.

Yet they've never raced for Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe together. Until this Saturday. Evenepoel was long known to be the team leader for the final monument of the season, and he's getting some unexpected company.
Primoz Roglic has been a late addition to the team, having thrived to win the time trial in Slovenia this past Wednesday. Over the past months, Roglic has been on flying form, and is a strong addition to the German team.
The duo will receive the company of Giulio Pellizzari and Jai Hindley, who led the team at the Giro d'Italia, and will now have support roles for the Belgian at Il Lombardia. The team will most likely pursue an aggressive tactic due to its depth.
Former Lombardia podium finisher Gianni Moscon will be the team's road captain whilst the Italian duo of Mattia Cattaneo and Giovanni Aleotti will be providing extra climbing support.
