Preview. On the 9th of February the peloton races the Muscat Classic. Created in 2023, the Omani classic anticipates the Tour of Oman with a race that is open for many riders.
The 173-kilometer race follows some climbs that the Tour of Oman traditionally races through. A hilly one-day race, where the puncheurs and classics riders will mainly thrive. The riders face five hilltops before the ascent to Al Jissah which is a kilometer above 9%. The race features these walls where attacks may come. The final ascent ends with just 5.5 kilometers to go before a very fast downhill, and a slight uphill sprint to the line.
