PREVIEW | Grand Prix La Marseillaise 2023 - Arnaud De Lie battles against classics-specialist stacked field

It will be on the 29th of January 2023 that the French peloton will have it's opener, as the riders tackle the Grand Prix La Marseillaise, a hilly race which every year provides a lot of spectacle and early-year action.

The 167-kilometer long race features almost 3000 meters of climbing in what is a very rolling course, where climbers, puncheurs, classics riders and sprinters can all succeed. The main ascents of the race will be the Route des Crêtes (3.4Km; 9.2%), Pas d'Ouiller (7.7Km; 4.2%) and the final ascent the Col de la Gineste (2Km; 6%). Ultimately all climbs end with 10 kilometers to go before a downhill run-up to the city of Marseille where the riders will end their day of racing.
