Pogacar's main domestiques Brandon McNulty and Rafal Majka re-sign with UAE Team Emirates

UAE Team Emirates have in the recent days announced renewals of eight riders, with a critical part of Tadej Pogacar's block having a new contract including the likes of Brandon McNulty and Rafal Majka.
The four riders were signed until 2024, including also Mikkel Bjerg who's played a crucial protection role for the Slovenian over the last few years and veteran Diego Ulissi who has just completed the Tour de Pologne inside the Top10.
However the two climbers were the most important moves. Brandon McNulty has largely had freedom since joining the UAE Team, having wins at several races this year including Paris-Nice. However his work on the final week of the Tour de France saw him on another level, splitting the field dramatically on stage 17 where only Pogacar and Tour winner Jonas Vingegaard could keep up.
As for Rafal Majka he's been since his signing in 2021 the most crucial supporting rider for the Slovenian. He's been part of several of his wins, and has a friendship which has seen him this year take two stage wins at the Tour of Slovenia as the pair dominated the race.

A cyclist's career is short; they have to accumulate as much as possible. Obviously, when Tadej was a teen, he had no idea he was going to earn a lot. Don't worry, when his career ends, he'll return to his country, paying taxes on his future investments (he is doing yet that). - He actually took a pay cut when transferred to Visma; he was the star at Jayco for years, he moved because a different team structure could improve his chances and they both got the benefits of the transaction.
