Wout van Aert's hopes of taking victory at the Clásica Jaén Paraiso Interior were cruelly cut short as the Belgian punctured just prior to the very first gravel section.

In his post-race interview, van Aert revealed to HLN that "there was a large nail in my tyre". Due to this unfortunate incident, the Belgian was ruled-out of being in the battle for the win, which eventually went to Oier Lazkano of Movistar Team.

Now, the Team Visma | Lease a Bike star has taken to his official Instagram account to show off the proof via his story. Although it looks like a screw rather than a nail, it certainly doesn't look nice. Check it out for yourself down below!
