The 2026 season isn’t over yet for Paula Blasi. The Spanish rider, one of the year’s big revelations, will line up at the second edition of Gran Canaria 365, held from the 22nd to 29th of November, bringing several leading figures of international cycling to the island.

Breakthrough season for Blasi

Blasi, of UAE Team L'IMAD, arrives after an exceptional year. The Catalan won La Vuelta Femenina 2026 and then confirmed her high level at the Tour de France Femmes, where she finished fifth overall. Those results have lifted her to second in the current UCI world ranking.
Paula Blasi’s name has become one of the headlines of women’s cycling in 2026. The Spaniard has gone from a rider with huge room to grow to racing shoulder to shoulder with the world’s best in just a few months.
Her triumph at La Vuelta was one of the defining moments of her season. Blasi not only secured the overall title, she also pulled on the polka dots as mountains winner. Then came the Tour de France Femmes, her debut at the French Grand Tour, where she placed inside the top five.
That fifth place at the Tour cemented her progression and propelled her to second in the UCI world ranking. Now she has another chance to enjoy her standout season in Gran Canaria.
Blasi’s rise is even more striking given how recently she entered the professional ranks. At the start of 2024 she had yet to compete as a professional cyclist. An injury forced her to abandon her preparation for the National Duathlon Championships, and she turned to the bike as a key tool during recovery.
In March of that same year she raced for the first time. Since then, her progression has been remarkably fast. In just over two years she has gone from her first competitive steps to winning a Grand Tour and finishing fifth at the Tour de France.
Gran Canaria 365 will therefore be another opportunity for the Spaniard to keep linking her name to major events and projects on the international calendar.

Gran Canaria, the epicentre of cycling for a week

Blasi’s presence strengthens the second edition of Gran Canaria 365, an initiative created by DG Eventos and promoted by Turismo de Gran Canaria through Gran Canaria Tri, Bike & Run.
The project aims to cement the island as a year-round, internationally recognised destination for cycling and training. Over eight days, leading international riders will cover different areas of Gran Canaria and experience first-hand the island’s training conditions.
The initiative also forms part of Turismo de Gran Canaria’s international promotion strategy, led by the tourism councillor, Carlos Álamo. The goal is to keep adding major cycling names as ambassadors and use their presence to reinforce Gran Canaria’s image as a cycling destination.
Blasi will be one of the protagonists of this second edition after a season that has transformed her standing in the peloton. The La Vuelta winner and Tour top five finisher will arrive on the island as the world’s number two in the UCI ranking and as one of the leading faces of Spanish women’s cycling.
The second edition of Gran Canaria 365 will take place from the 22nd to 29th of November, a week that will once again turn the island into a meeting point for some of the main figures of international cycling.
