Once climbing gem of INEOS and Movistar, Ivan Sosa, hopes to resurrect his carreer at Kern Pharma

Ivan Sosa's last few years with Movistar Team have been far from the level that the Colombian rider promised at the time. At 26 years of age, he leaves the team through the back door.
Two weeks ago our CiclismoAlDía colleagues reported that Sosa was negotiating his arrival at Kern Pharma. Now, the Navarre team confirms that the deal has been closed with the official announcement of the signing, and that the Colombian signs for one year.
It is also advanced that the proposal of Kern Pharma had been on the table of Ivan Sosa since August. Although EF Education - EasyPost tried to sign him in mid-September, the Navarre team has won the race for the incorporation of a cyclist who will try to offer something of the level many expected of him when he entered the professional world with INEOS Grenadiers in 2019.
"I am very grateful to Kern Pharma for this opportunity. I think my biggest challenge is to get back to a very good level that allows me to compete in races. I know that together and working hard we can reach that goal," says Ivan Sosa in statements for the Spanish team.

- Tour de Romandie 2024: 24th overall and 17th best stage result.
- Mercan'Tour Classic 2024: 4th place.
- Critérium du Dauphiné 2024: DNF (38th as best stage result).
- Tour de l'Ain 2024: 15th overall and 12th best stage result.
- Villafranca 2024 test: 50th place.
- Clásica de San Sebastián 2024: DNF.
- GP Industria & Artigianato 2024: DNF.
- Giro della Toscana 2024: 31st place.
- Memorial Marco Pantani: 57th place.
- Tour de Guangxi 2024: 54th overall and 49th best stage result.
