UAE Team Emirates' lineup for the
Giro d'Italia was reported to have been decided a week ago already, but only today does the Emirati team confirm their '8' for the first Grand Tour of the season. As expected,
Tadej Pogacar leads the team on a charge to win the race.
He will be supported by a team made up of
Rafal Majka, Felix Grossscartner and
Domen Novak who will be his main domestiques in the many long mountain stages that the race presents.
Alongside Majka who was a key domestique before the team's recent signing of a flurry of superstars in recent years, Pogacar's loyal domestiques for the flat and hilly days Mikke Bjerg and
Vegard Stake Laengen will also be present as road captains.
The team focuses on it's success at the Tour de France, so much so that despite Pogacar's presence, the team still gave way for
Juan Sebastián Molano to have the opportunity to seek success in the sprints, alongside his leadout men
Rui Oliveira - the duo worked their way towards a stage win at last year's Vuelta a España.
Okay team, just get Tadej through the first week so he can do his thing from then on.
