Movistar Team and Manlio Moro have agreed to extend their partnership through the end of the 2027 season. The Italian will remain with the Spanish team for another year, having joined in 2024 from development squad Zalf Euromobil Fior after impressing on the under-23 circuit. The renewal secures the future of a rider who has steadily gained experience in the international peloton and plays an important role in the team’s collective work.
Born in Pordenone on 17 March 2002, Moro is now set to begin his fourth season with Movistar Team, where he has found an environment in which to continue developing as a professional cyclist. In his first three campaigns, the Italian has regularly competed in stage races and WorldTour one-day events, building up racing miles and experience at the highest level.
The 24-year-old is particularly strong as a rouleur, with the ability to hold a good position in the peloton and a willingness to work for his teammates. His profile suits a team that needs riders able to take on responsibilities in races and contribute to its collective tactics.
Moro’s renewal also reflects Movistar Team’s commitment to stability within its men’s squad. After a difficult last season, the Italian approaches the year ahead with renewed motivation and hopes to repay the team’s faith in him. He has publicly thanked the team for standing by him during the toughest moments.

“I’m very happy to stay with this family for another year. The last year has been a little difficult, and I want to thank the team for supporting me throughout,” Moro said after his contract extension was confirmed. His words underlined the confidence Movistar Team has shown in him, particularly during a campaign that proved challenging both personally and professionally.
The rider also wanted to recognise the work of everyone who stood by him during that period. “I can never thank everyone who has been by my side through these moments enough,” he added. His comments highlight how important the team’s support has been in helping him face difficulties and stay motivated for the future.

With his contract extended through the end of 2027, Moro will have the chance to keep developing within a squad where his strengths could prove valuable across a range of race situations. His power on the bike and ability to work in the peloton make him a useful support rider in both stage races and one-day events, helping the team pursue its objectives.
The Italian is already looking ahead to next season with ambition and a desire to make the most of this opportunity. “I’m very motivated and ready to take on a great 2027,” he said. Movistar Team will therefore retain a young rider who can continue gaining experience on the international calendar and will look to take another step forward after overcoming a difficult year.
