Tadej Pogacar Tour de Francia 4
The 2026 Tour de France is already in the books. Tadej Pogacar’s victory will be remembered as the moment the Slovenian drew level with the historic record of Eddy Merckx, Miguel Induráin, Jacques Anquetil, and Bernard Hinault. But the season rolls on, and it’s time to assess how the Grande Boucle has reshaped the UCI Ranking.

Tadej Pogacar's Tour win puts UAE further in the lead

Unsurprisingly, the biggest winner is UAE Team Emirates - XRG. First up, inevitably, is Tadej Pogacar's UAE. The Emirati team has amassed 23,475 UCI points, an extraordinary haul, pulling clear of Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe, still 2nd. Between the Slovenian’s overall win and his five stage victories, plus Isaac del Toro’s podium and his stage 2 triumph, no team shone as brightly as the one led by today’s two superstars.
The aforementioned Red Bull also enjoyed a superb Tour de France, moving to 17,653 points and opening a gap of more than 2,000 over Team Visma | Lease a Bike, still 3rd but without GC points after Jonas Vingegaard abandoned. With Remco Evenepoel’s 2nd overall, including two stage wins, the tally is more than satisfactory.
Decathlon CMA CGM Team, fronted by Paul Seixas, who debuted at the Tour at just 19, holds 4th in the UCI Ranking with 14,407 points. Notably, they are closing on Visma, now only 800 points back. Seixas himself finished 4th overall, a historic result as the best Tour de France placing by a 19-year-old since 1903. Olav Kooij capped it with a stage win.
The standings continue with Lidl-Trek steady in 5th on 12,849 points. The American team placed two riders in the overall top 10: Mattias Skjelmose (6th) and Juan Ayuso (7th). They also celebrated Mads Pedersen’s stage win on day four. The Dane secured the green jersey as well, adding 210 more UCI points.
Tadej Pogacar and Isaac del Toro celebrate on Alpe d’Huez after the Tour de France podium.

XDS Astana Team, though not a leading protagonist at the Tour de France, remains 6th in the Ranking with 10,494 points. In fact, their best returns came in parallel with back-to-back wins by Thomas Silva at the Clásica de Ordizia and the Clásica de Castilla y León the very next day. Once again, the Kazakh team mines the smaller races to piece together a strong season.
Bahrain Victorious is the last team currently above 10,000 points, sitting 7th. Their standout in the Tour was Lenny Martínez, who finished 5th overall, a memorable result for the Frenchman. Behind them, Netcompany INEOS is 8th despite a deeply underwhelming Grande Boucle. No stages and no GC fight, and as a result, Alpecin-Premier Tech is right on their wheel.
Alpecin sits 9th, just under 100 points off INEOS. The Belgian squad delivered a superb Tour de France with two stage wins for Mathieu van der Poel, one for Jasper Philipsen, and Philipsen’s runner-up spot in the points classification. It’s an excellent platform for the final third of the season, especially after their slow start to 2026.
Soudal Quick-Step rounds out the top 10. The Wolfpack more than delivered at the Tour despite Ilan Van Wilder’s withdrawal: three stage wins by Tim Merlier are an outstanding return. On top of that, Valentin Paret-Peintre added further points by taking 3rd after a thrilling battle in the mountains classification.
As it stands currently, Pinarello - Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team (15th) and Cofidis (18th) are in position to be promoted to the World Tour. Groupama - FDJ (20th) and Team Picnic PostNL (30th) are provisionally in a position of relegation, with the latter specially being completely out of range of all other World Tour teams.
