Jumbo-Visma have announced this morning that
Nathan van Hooydonck will not start stage 20 of the
Tour de France, as he has headed home due to family circumstances.
Van Hooydonck played a crucial support role for the team's leaders throughout the three weeks, having a lot of protection work in the dangerous flat stages and positioning into the mountains, aswell as chasing for some of the Dutch team's wins. This comes in a day where he would not be chasing a result, and with both general and points classifications almost confirmed, the rouleur's quality has been already put to good use and won't be crucial.
