Team Arkéa Samsic are so far having a positive balance to their performance at the
Volta a Catalunya, specially as
Nairo Quintana showed good form today, and is sitting inside the provisional podium of the race.
"I'm third in the overall and I keep having good sensations. It was a fast stage, but the team work was very important in order to have good positioning and arrive fresh at the final climb," Quintana said in a post-race interview.
"Tomorrow is an important stage, with harder climbs where I have the ambition to do better and climb places in the overall classification," he concluded. To note, Quintana sits third in the overall classification, only six seconds behind Ben O'Connor, so the Colombians ambitions are rather high heading into the queen stage.
As the peloton heads to Boí Taüll tomorrow deep in the Pyrenees, Quintana will have terrain where he will have more chances to make differences if he has the legs. He has been carrying great form this season, and it will be a big challenge for him to try and overturn the overall classification.
