Marlen Reusser won the fourth stage of the
Tour de France Femmes. She launched a solo attack and took the lead 21 kilometers before the finish line, which she maintained till the end.
"Every day in the Tour is tough,” said Reusser. She continues, “This stage suited me very well. We had planned to make it a tough finale. Our first priority was, of course, with our classification riders, but we have an open, aggressive race tactic. Everyone on the team can go for a stage win if they can."
She launched a solo attack 21 kilometers before the finish line and took a lead of 30 seconds. She increased the lead to over a minute in the final kilometer and secured her victory. “We said we would attack, and I was the lucky one today because I could jump away. I am very grateful to the team. We worked very well together today. Whether this is my best victory ever, I don't know, but I do know that this is very special," concluded Reusser. She holds 24th position in GC, 4 minutes and 32 seconds behind overall leader
Marianne Vos.
