After Wout van Aert's positive Covid test right before the Tour des Flandres,
Jumbo-Visma have been struck with similar bad luck today as
Marianne Vos had the same outcome last minute for the second edition of the
Paris-Roubaix Femmes.
Despite a season that has yet to see her at her best level, she was set to start Paris-Roubaix as one of the big favourites. She has only raced Strade Bianche, Gent-Wevelgem and the Tour des Flandres this season, however a runner-up spot in the second race proved she had the legs to contest the races with the best.
“The disappointment is enormous. I had been looking forward to this race. When I tested positive this morning, the world came crashing down. But I support the team’s policy. I should not take any risks with my health. I’m going home, I’m taking a rest and I hope I keep feeling well," Vos said in a press release.
