An award more than deserved! Marc Soler will not leave the 2024 Vuelta a Espana empty handed after having been rewarded with the Super-combativity prize for the Spanish Grand Tour.
It's no wonder either. The UAE Team Emirates Spaniard has been a protagonist in practically every important breakaway in La Vuelta this year. With a total of 7 days in breakaways, Soler has also managed to be the rider in the peloton who has ridden the most kilometres in total at the head of the race. His big prize came on stage 16, when he took the long-awaited victory in Lagos de Covadonga after several shots to the post that he did not let frustrate him.
In addition, Marc Soler almost won the King of the Mountains classification. He entered stage 20 with the polka dot jersey, but decided to leave it to his teammate Jay Vine, who in statements after the stage praised the Spanish cyclist, who has all the affection of his teammates in the UAE for his constant sacrifice for the benefit of the team.
