Marc Soler has claimed overall victory at the 2025 Vuelta a Asturias, sealing the win with a dominant solo performance in the final stage. UAE Team Emirates - XRG showed overwhelming superiority throughout the Spanish race, taking home two stage wins and the general classification.
This special centenary edition featured an additional stage, but unfortunately, it wasn’t broadcast on television. That made it difficult to follow and deprived fans of the chance to fully enjoy four thrilling days of racing, marked by relentless attacks and unexpected developments.
Marc Soler continues to show he’s a phenomenal rider. He built his overall win by staying alert and consistently finishing with the lead group - something no one else managed. He placed second in the opening stage behind Steff Cras, then capped it all with a spectacular solo victory in the finale. It was a commanding performance from the Catalan and his UAE team, who also took another stage win with Alessandro Covi.
Soler’s 2025 season has been nothing short of impressive: seventh overall in Andalucía while riding in support of Sivakov, doing the hard work in Catalunya for Juan Ayuso, more of the same in Itzulia for João Almeida, and now shining on his own terms in Asturias. His last victory also came in Asturias, during the Vuelta a España - a region that clearly brings out his best.
There’s little more to say about this “Vueltina,” other than to hope that by next year, it finally gets proper TV coverage so fans can fully experience the race as it deserves.
