Marc Hirschi does it again! Another victory for UAE at Coppa Agostoni

Marc Hirschi has won several races this year and he keeps UAE Team Emirates' tally going up constantly. The Swiss rider was victorious at the Coppa Agostoni today, succeeding after a late attack.

It was a race that was very fast right from the start and had no slowing down. Lots of splits occured there, but eventually three riders did manage to get a gap over the rest: Lorenzo Milesi, Ewen Costiou and Gianmarco Garofoli.

However throughout the many climbs of the hilly circuit, attacks would fly off consistently and different groups would form. Eventually a decisive attack was made with Marc Hirschi, Alex Aranburu, Romain Grégoire and Paul Lapeira went up the road, with around a dozen riders chasing - and a different group moving off the peloton.

The quartet didn't perfectly work towards the finish in search of a sprint, but with the groups coming close behind in the flat finale, the pressure was on. Alex Aranburu launched a late attack but it ultimately proved costly as he was caught and was left out of the podium.

Marc Hirschi sprinted to victory in Italy, yet another win in his excellent late-season run. Romain Grégoire finished second whilst Paul Lapeira closed off the podium.
