Magnus Cort likely to miss the Milano-Sanremo with fractured thumb

Magnus Cort broke his thumb in a fall in Tirreno-Adriatico. The new acquisition of Uno-X Mobility won't be in the action for the time being and can probably forget about a participation at Milano-Sanremo.

Cort crashed on Saturday in the penultimate stage of Tirreno-Adriatico, which arrived on the flanks of Monte Petrano. The 31-year-old all-rounder suffered a fracture in his thumb and had to throw in the towel early. "We wish Magnus a quick and complete recovery," Uno-X Mobility said via X.

The 31-year-old rider with the striking mustache has been an consistent presence in the Italian classic in recent years. In 2018 he already finished eighth in La Primavera, the year before he finished eleventh.

Cort is still looking for his first win of the season and for his new Norwegian team. He already rode to places of honor at the Étolie de Bessèges and the Volta ao Algarve. He was also 27th in Strade Bianche more than a week ago.
