Mads Pedersen has officially renovated his contract with
Trek - Segafredo, as the American team conserved another of it's leaders. The Dane has just finished a stint of racing at home in Denmark, and will remain a threatening rider at the Tour de France.
The announcement was made this afternoon. Pedersen is not the first rider signing a long-term contract with the team this season, as both Jasper Stuyven and Bauke Mollema have signed until 2025 and 2026 respectively. Trek are looking at a long-term approach to it's lineup, having it's leaders signed in the first place.
Pedersen has finished sixth and third in the two opening stages of the Tour de France and is seeking the yellow jersey on the coming days. This year he has taken wins at Paris-Nice, Etoile de Bessèges, Circuit Cycliste Sarthe and the Baloise Belgium Tour.
A shocking World championships winner in Yorkshire 2019, Pedersen has developed himself first as a quality classics rider having won Gent-Wevelgem and Kuurne-Bruxels-Kuurne aswell as runner-up at the Tour des Flandres 2018. He's ridden into a spot as one of the World's best sprinters in the meantime, having taken many high-level wins whilst still being a strong classics rider with tremendous versatility.
