Mads Pedersen has taken victory on the fourth and final stage of the 2024 Deutschland Tour and with it, the Dane secures the overall victory in the general classification.
Five riders got into the day's breakaway. Most notable of the leader's being Max Walscheid and Movistar Team's Javier Romo, with the latter being the best placed in the general classification of the front group at just 29 seconds down. Heading into the final 20km, Romo, Walschied and Oliver Mattheis remained up ahead, around a minute clear of the peloton.
With just over 5km to go, the break were finally caught. From there a sprint finish was inevitable and in the end, it was Lidl-Trek's Mads Pedersen who took the win, completing his team's complete and utter domination of the 2024 Deutschland Tour.
