Young Belgian climber Lennert Van Eetvelt has secured his future with the Lotto Dstny team by signing a two-year contract, cementing his commitment to the squad until the end of 2026.

This renewal comes after a spectacular start to the season for the 22-year-old rider, who has demonstrated his talent with notable performances in the first competitions of the year. Van Eetvelt joined the Lotto Dstny development team in 2020, and has since been a key part of the team's structure. His promotion to the pro team in 2023 marked the beginning of a new stage in his career, which has been crowned with multiple successes so far this season.

The 2024 season got off to a brilliant start for Van Eetvelt, with a victory in the Challenge de Mallorca and an impressive performance in the UAE Tour. In the latter competition, the Belgian rider not only took victory in the final stage, but also won the overall classification and the junior classification, consolidating his position as one of the most promising young riders in world cycling.

"I'm super happy to ride for Lotto Dstny for two more years," a happy Van Eetvelt says to his team's official website. "The team has made a big positive evolution the last years, which everyone sees, and I hope we can keep on making progression. It was quite some journey already, as I was a rider in the Development Team before and now this year I have taken another step with winning the UAE Tour. I know the staff and riders well, it feels like a second family. The freedom I get here and the whole project of the team is just super positive and I am glad I can keep on being part of this story."

Lotto Dstny CEO Stéphane Heulot also showed his delight at Van Eetvelt's continuity in the team: "Lennert is a product of our Development Team, which makes the story even nicer. Seeing his development from close is impressive, he made a big step this year winning his first WorldTour victory. I am confident we will see a lot more nice things of him in the future, we will guide him in every step."
