Vincenzo Nibali has been a pro rider since 2005, and tomorrow's Il Lombardia will be the final race in his career. The Astana Qazaqstan Team rider is in good form and will try to take a strong result in Como, on roads where he's been very happy in the past.
Nibali has twice on the Italian monument, both times solo and in this very same town. He's one of the most experienced riders in the bunch and one who loves the long distances, and will have a race well suited to his abilities tomorrow where he will be an outsider favourite, after riding back into form in May to finish the Giro in fourth place, and showing good form in the recent one-day races he's used as preparation.
Astana will certainly back the Italian up at the main leader, however the likes of Miguel Ángel López and David de la Cruz can also play a role in the finale if they find themselves on a good day, with plenty climbing to enjoy.
Javier Romo adds some more firepower to the lineup, which is concluded by Italian riders in Simone Velasco, Samuele Battsitella and Christian Scaroni.
Astana Qazaqstan Team for Il Lombardia: Vincenzo Nibali, David De la Cruz, Javier Romo, Miguel Ángel López, Simone Velasco, Samuele Battistella and Christian Scaroni.
