Lidl-Trek sign it's fourth rider in Patrick Konrad who makes the move from BORA - hansgrohe

After Tao Geoghegan Hart, Jonathan Milan and Andrea Bagioli, Lidl-Trek have revealed their fourth transfer of the winter in another strong figure, the American team has reinforced it's classics and climbing block with Patrick Konrad.

The Austrian rider moves over after nine seasons with BORA - hansgrohe. He was part of the German team whilst it was still at ProTeam level, and has been one of the core figures of the team, specially being an Austrian which the team has put quite a lot of focus into. In his years with BORA he's been national champion twice in 2019 and 2021 and his only win outside the nationals was at the 2021 Tour de Frace where he won on a hilly day from the breakaway.

Hence, a quality classics rider to hunt for results but possibly to support the team's ambitions as well, with Giulio Ciccone and Mattias Skjelmose impressing this spring. This season the 31-year old finished 8th at Liège-Bastogne-Liège and followed that up with a second place at Eschborn-Frankfurt. In the past, he's finished twice in the Top10 of the Giro d'Italia proving that he's also a good figure to support the team in the mountains - something that's becoming even more of a focus with Hart's signing.

For Lidl it represents another quality signing. Out of the four moves they've made so far in the market they have all been with riders with capacity to win on the big stage, with the entrance of Hart and Milan the team has snatched two new leaders whilst maintaining all of it's current leadership, with Mads Pedersen having a terrific season, Mattias Skjelmose breaking through and already becoming a World Tour stage-race winner, and Giulio Ciccone thriving in the mountainous races.
