The second stage of
La Route d'Occitanie was shortened due to the extreme heat felt in the region, but it went forward as the riders fought in a short 32-kilometer long stage. Roger Adrià proved the work of
Equipo Kern Pharma right by taking a surprising win.
The race saw attacks from the start, but a "fresh" peloton didn't let anyone escape it's clutches, and a bunch sprint decided the stage win, although the uphill gradients didn't make it easy for anyone.
Michael Valgren was the first rider to launch the sprint, however he finished second to Roger Adrià who was the fastest in the approach to the line.
Max Kanter completed the podium, as Adrià also took over the race lead.
