Kyrylo Tsarenko has won the stage 4 of the 2025
Tour of Slovenia, ahead of fellow breakaway companion Samuele Zoccarato.
Anders Johannessen was the strongest GC man and moves up to the leader's jersey with one day to go.
The fourth stage of Tour of Slovenia saw a strong seven-man breakaway build what seemed to be a promising advantage over the peloton, but Lidl-Trek set up a heavy peace from the foot of the Golte climb and quickly shredded their lead as well as the peloton.
Jon Castellon (Caja Rural - Seguros RGA) was the first attacker from peloton, building a healthy gap to the group of favourites. Meanwhile Kyrylo Tsarenko as the strongest man from breakaway was still going strong at the front, having dropped his last breakaway companion Samuele Zoccarato (Team Polti VisitMalta) with 3 kilometers to go.
After a brief stand out, the main favourites finally unveiled their cards as they approached the final kilometer with Anders Johannessen (Uno-X Mobility) steering clear of Felix Großschartner (UAE Team Emirates - XRG).
Despite his strong effort from Johannessen, the advantage of Tsarenko was enough to allow the Ukrainian add another big victory to his palmares after having won a stage and GC at the Tour of Hainan earlier this year.
Anders Johannessen moves up to the lead of general classification with Felix Großschartner 16 seconds behind and Tao Geoghegan Hart (Lidl-Trek) in third, 19 seconds behind the Norwegian.
