Juliette Labous "will try to go for another win on the next days" after her first stage victory in Giro d’Italia Donne

Juliette Labous has secured her first stage victory in the Giro d’Italia Donne . She managed to leave the peloton behind in the final climb and take the win.

She launched the attack three kilometers before the finish line and created a two-and-a-half-minute lead over the peloton. Van Vleuten, Garcia, and Cavalli attempted to attack Labous, but the distance was too large, and their efforts were futile. Juliette Labous won the stage, Annemiek van Vleuten took silver, and Garcia had to settle for bronze.

“It was really hard on the final climb and I was a bit scared as the gap was going down fast so we had to go full from the bottom,” said Labous.” I saw that I was probably the strongest and decided to take my own pace and go as hard as I could. I will try to go for another win on the next days but maybe tomorrow I will be a bit tired. For now, though, I’m just so happy with the win today.”
