The seventh stage of the
Giro d'Italia Donne was won by
Juliette Labous. The Frenchwoman won the stage by 1 minute and 37 seconds over
Annemiek van Vleuten, who finished second.
She was part of a breakaway along with Elena Cecchini, Alba Teruel, Mikayla Harvey, Jennifer Ducuara, Magdeleine Vallieres, Emilia Fahlin, Beatrice Rossato, Katia Ragusa, Paula Andrea Patiño, Georgia Williams, Juliette Labous, Cristina Tonetti, Amalie Lutro and Alice Maria Arzuffi, who managed to create a gap of 9 minutes from the peloton.
Lutro (Uno-X) was the first to attack at the foot of Passo Maniva. Tonetti soon caught her up. Labous then caught Tonetti and even made it to the front. She began the final three kilometers with a two-and-a-half-minute lead over the peloton.
Van Vleuten, Garcia, and Cavalli attempted to attack Labous, but the distance was too large, and their efforts were futile. Juliette Labous won the stage, Annemiek van Vleuten took silver, and Garcia had to settle for bronze. Annemiek van Vleuten has managed to defend her first position in GC .
