Jonas Vingegaard is finally back on the bicycle to compete in the CRO Race after a long break. Although it was not too pleasant to ride the first stage with rain showers, he finished the race in 17th position.
There was already a forecast regarding bad weather, but no one knew it would be this bad. "It suddenly started blowing very hard and raining, and the temperature went down by ten degrees," sports director Marc Reef said.
"Jonas showed that he is in good shape," Reef said. He continued, "We were hoping for a nice result today. We knew it was going to be a tricky final, so we wanted to take advantage of that. Unfortunately, we weren't the only ones who felt that way."
His teammate Milan Vader also made his return to the peloton today. It was a unique experience for the young rider. "It didn't disappoint me. At the end I got quite cold for a while because of the rain, but all in all I got through the day well. It felt like it hadn't been that long since I had raced at all. That's a good sign. I enjoyed it,” concluded Vader.
