Joan Bou renews with Euskaltel-Euskadi - These are the 15 cyclists confirmed for the Basque team for 2024

The Euskaltel-Euskadi team has confirmed exciting news for cycling fans. Joan Bou, the 26-year-old Valencian cyclist, will continue to be part of the orange squad next season, marking a five-year cycle with the Basque team. This decision reflects the mutual trust between the rider and the team, and Bou's steady progression as a cyclist since his arrival in 2020.

Joan Bou has become a fundamental pillar for Euskaltel-Euskadi in the most important competitions of the cycling calendar. His versatility as a climber allows him to aspire to outstanding positions in stage races and, at the same time, to be an asset in quality breakaways.

During the 2023 season, Bou achieved impressive results that cemented his status in the world of professional cycling. He stood out with an outstanding 10th place in the Vuelta a Burgos (2.Pro) and a fourth place in the recent Tour of Langkawi (2.Pro). He also took an honorable 11th place in the Tour of Qinghai Lake (2.Pro) and 12th place in the Vuelta a Asturias.

In his own words, Bou expressed his enthusiasm for the renewal with Euskaltel-Euskadi: "The renewal with Euskaltel-Euskadi is the continuity of the previous four years in the team. I've been and I'm very happy. I've learned, I've raced a lot, and I've improved year after year".

The Valencian cyclist also shared his aspirations for next season: "Next year I hope to continue this line, to get good positions and overall positions in laps, and with that to confirm the level I have and to know how far I can go. And, without a doubt, what I would most like to do would be to race the Vuelta a España again".

Jorge Azanza, sports manager of the team, expressed his confidence in Bou and his potential to bring even more to the team: "Bou has been with the team for several years and is a rider that I personally like very much. I think he can give us even more and that's how I think he's going to be next year".

Joan Bou's renewal adds to the contract extensions of other key cyclists in the team, such as Mikel Bizkarra, Xabier Isasa, Mikel Iturria and Gotzon Martín. The Euskaltel-Euskadi team is ready to face new challenges in the 2024 season, with a group of talented and motivated cyclists.
