The Tour Down Under has recently had it's route revealed for 2024, including Old Willunga Hill and Mount Lofty summit finishes. It'll be a route suited to the climbers and defending champion Jay Vine will be in the peloton.
This was reported by GCN. It is said that UAE Team Emirates' team manager Mauro Gianetti confirmed himself that the Australian will make a comeback to his home country. He may well race the national championships - where he is the defending time-trial champion - before the six-day stage-race.
The opening World Tour event features every years quite a lot of high-quality riders and so Vine, even if in his best form, will only be a candidate. This year he had to defeat Simon Yates and Pello Bilbao to conquer the overall classification.
Vine struggled in the Grand Tours as he couldn't find consistency in the stage-races later in the year. However he closed off the season with an impressive solo win at the Tour of Turkey. Alongside him, other riders such as Filippo Ganna, Elia Viviani and Caleb Ewan have manifested intention to race the Tour Down Under.
