Jai Hindley and Aleksandr Vlasov set to lead BORA-hansgrohe at the Tour de Romandie

With the Spring Classics now over for another season, the peloton is now turning its attention to the first Grand Tour of the season at the Giro d’Italia. However, there is still one more preparation race ahead of the Italian race, as the Tour de Romandie is taking place this week in Switzerland.

Despite having won the race two years ago, Jai Hindley will not be riding this year’s Giro d’Italia, but he will be racing at the Tour de Romandie, as he continues to prepare for the Tour de France this summer. He will lead BORA-hansgrohe alongside Aleksandr Vlasov, who won the Swiss stage race in 2022.

Hindley has already impressed with strong general classification results this season, as he finished third overall at Tirreno-Adriatico. Vlasov has also been having a solid season thus far, as he finished in fifth place at Paris-Nice and in fourth place at the Volta a Catalunya.

They will be supported by Sergio Higuita, who won the queen stage of that 2022 edition of the race, as well as Anton Palzer, Florian Lipowitz, Roger Adrià and Patrick Gamper. It is certainly a strong climbing team and with two mountaintop finishes on the route, they will be useful domestiques in helping Hindley and Vlasov to stay in good position on the climbs.

BORA-hansgrohe for Tour de Romandie 2024:
