Juan Sebastian Molano claimed his second ever Vuelta a Espana victory on Thursady. The Colobian sprinter owes at least half of his victory to his last lead-out man Rui Oliveira who created a perfect position for his sprinter while finishing fourth himself.

So Rui Oliveira was worth gold for Molano. "It was chaos," the Portuguese told Eurosport. "Our strategy was to get to the left side because we knew it was important to time well because of the headwind. With 500 meters to go it was chaos getting to the inside of the bend."

"We got stuck with one kilometer to go, but I had good legs and knew I could take a good lead-out," said Oliveira. "I therefore decided to start with 450 meters to go. I knew Molano was on my wheel, so when he went over me it turned out perfect. It also feels a bit like my victory."
