On a brutal summit finish at the Col de la Loze, Isaac del Toro took a brilliant stage win on stage 6 of the 2023 Tour de l'Avenir.
With a massive 23km long climb to finish the stage atop the Col de la Loze, it was the biggest challenge of the race so far. On the early slopes, it was the Netherlands setting the pace at the front of the peloton in a demonstration of power.
Soon though, Colombia came to the front and upped the pace and with just over 9km to go, Matthew Riccitello launched his attack, dropping the Yellow Jersey in the process. In the final, it was Riccitello and Isaac del Toro fighting for the win with the Mexican taking it.
