Jonathan Castroviejo has been linked to the
INEOS Grenadiers structure, formerly Team Sky, since 2018, when he left Movistar Team after 6 years to join the British team. Although there were rumors of a possible departure of the Spaniard, everything indicates that he will remain attached to the British team for at least one more year.
In the colors of INEOS, the 37-year-old has won three of his six Spanish time trial championships. In addition, he is one of the most loyal and respected domestiques in the peloton. He has shown a lot of quality in the mountains, flat roads but mostly having a lot of experience supporting some of the biggest Grand Tour contenders of the past and current generations such as Chris Froome, Egan Bernal and Geraint Thomas - which have seen him in the head of the peloton for large amounts of time.
He participated in the 2018 Tour de France, won by teammate Geraint Thomas, and in the 2019 Tour de France, where they triumphed with Egan Bernal. However every year since 2020 he has raced two Grand Tours a season (only abandoning in the first of them, the 2020 Tour) and has even finished 15th at last year's Grand Boucle.
