Ruben Guerreiro has made his debut for Movistar Team and immediately succeeded. The Portuguese climber has won the Saudi Tour after a strong performance, a win consolidated today in the final stage..
“The wind gave us the chance to be relaxed today. There were a few attacks, but it was calm overall. The last kilometer was very tricky and technical, it was important to position well. I myself no longer had the legs to sprint for the top 10, there were too many good sprinters," the 28-year old said in a post-race interview.

Guerreiro had shown good form previous to the queen stage, but there he matched the stronger climbers and beat both Davide Formolo and Santiago Buitrago in the sprint. He took on the lead of the race, sustaining it today in a trecherous day with a hilly finale.
It was a successful start to his three-year contract at Movistar. Guerreiro will now race the Tour of Oman next where he will be a big contender. “It is really thanks to the team that we succeeded. I really feel stronger than ever, also mentally. I've had a lot of injuries in the past, but I still feel 20," he concluded.
